Batman v Superman: Tech Manual

The Batman v Superman Tech Manual will appeal to those specifically interested in the intricate details of the designs in the film and how the technology works. In reading through the book, it's apparent that everything was designed not only to look good but to be functional as well. The designs were clearly well thought out. Imagery includes concept art, early sketches, blueprints, and models.

There's more Batman-related content here than anything else, given that he his a human and must rely on technology more so than the other characters in the film. About 80 percent of the book is dedicated to the caped crusader. If you think of Burton's Batman as the height of stylized design and Nolan's Dark Knight as the height of functional design; then Snyder's Batman in "Dawn of Justice" finds a happy medium between style and functionality.

Tech featured in the book:
- The Batsuit: body armor, utility belt, and of course the cape and cowl
- The Mechanical Suit, which was inspired by Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns.
- Batman's Armory - he has a variety of weapons, including grenades, sticky bombs, and grappling guns.
- The book covers both of Batman's vehicles extensively. The Batmobile, which blends functionality and elegance better than any of the previous designs. And the Batwing, a vertical take off vehicle that is designed to look like a cross between a bat and an airplane.
- Wayne Manor and the Batcave
- Superman's Suit - the costume is based on the Man of Steel costume, but underwent slight improvements for this new film.
- Kryptonite Containment Square used by Lex Luthor to store the dangerous mineral.
- Wonder Woman - her armor, shield, sword, and lasso.

I loved the book

I loved the book. It's a great product, not really a fan of the movie as a whole but i do like zach snyders take on the Batman. The Batmans tech area was where i sort of had a problem. Some of the technology used in the movie doesnt go into full detail. Like the Batwing, they talk about how they made it for cinematic purposes like " Oh we did this because it looked cool". That's basically what they were talking about. They don't go into detail about it like would've liked them to do. Or admit the batcomputer and what technology they used as if batman were using the tech in real life they just say things like, " i wanted it to look modern". They dont show what buttons do or what kind of monitors he used and how its technologically better than most regular computers. They do however go into full detail about the batmobile and most of the batcave which i was extremely satisfied about. Basically if you're into batman like me and want the full detail of every little gadget and vehicle, you're going to be disappointed. But if you're buying it for the movie then go for it.

Must have for true fans

Even if you didn't enjoy the movie, it's hard not enjoy the costumes, props, and set design. The level of detail that is in this movie is unbelievable. So many things are thought out that most of the audience will never notice, but for fans like me you love that attention to detail.

Inspiring read.

Gary Varnell is a fantastic leader and has inspired many to improve their lives. I read the book in one hour, but it is a book that will take several readings to obtain full impact. I recommend this book to anyone of any age. It teaches that any thing is possible through faith and perseverance. "Belief, the Foundation to Success" is a must read (and study) for both personal and professional growth. Thank you Gary Varnell!

Life Changing Read

If your feeling stuck hopeless or just plain sorry for yourself this book is a must read and will instantly pick up your spirits.

Belief is the true tale of how success begins with undying faith in your own abilities. But its not just about the power of positive thought. He talks about how action follow belief and how effort directly correlates to belief. Lastly this book does this through really life stories and the ability to believe against all odds.

Gary Varnell's personal story in particular is very interesting, from trailer park to COO, to renowned success coach and entrepreneur. You have to hear him tell you how he got there step by step and how the principles of perseverance, integrity and most importantly an unyielding belief in himself propelled him to one of the highest rungs of the economic ladder.

Review of Boyle's Oedipus (Seneca)

A better edition is hardly possible. The introduction is excellent (thorough but balanced), the text is accompanied by a very basic and readable English translation that aids one's tour through the Latin text, and the end-commentary is incredibly rich. Seneca's Oedipus isn't a very popular work, but this will quickly become a standard among scholars (not for student's though, since the facing English will keep this text out of the classroom.)

"Jodo Notebook" is a fully illustrated manual of the Basic techniques (Kihon) of Shindo Muso Ryu (SMR) and the Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei (ZNKR),and the 12 Kata of Seitei Jodo. It is an invaluable supplement to Jodo training to make learning easier and faster as well. Jodo (Japanese stick fighting) is taught either in Shindo Muso Ryu, or in the Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei under the name Seitei Jodo. Both systems share the same Basics (12 Kihon). The differences are in the Kata (12 in Seitei Jodo, and 64 in SMR), and the training with other weapons arts besides the Jo and the Sword (Tachi) in Shindo Muso Ryu (in the 64 SMR Kata). The ZNKR Jodo organization is by far the largest international Jodo organization. Very few books are available on Jodo. Jodo is taught worldwide, but newer literature in English is hard to get. Most of the literature is in Japanese.The Notebook is made to fill this gap in literature. The author is co-writer with George W. Alexander of The Dictionary of Japanese Martial Arts, and illustrator of The Way of White Crane Karate, both from Yamazato Productions.

Would have been nicer if they jst explain the jo on its own a little more, since no one carries a sword anymore. maybe like jo against unarmed opponents or opponents with a bat or knife. something more realistic to the present time. although i understand theyre trying to keep to traditional ways.

Amazing! nearly everything you need in one small book!

I am a cheif resident of neurology, and have been using this book to study for my RITE exam and boards. it has every key concept convered in well organized and easy to follow chapters. If your looking for the most possible information presented in the least amount of pages in a clear, concise manner, this is a wonderful book. The figures and tables are excellent and all in color! When supplementing this book with clinical cases and more in depth references, it can be a great guidline for any medical student, neurology resident or practicing neurologist.

concise but complete, a good fast consultation book

A good pocket book, useful for quick consultation and review of the principal features of most neurological conditions.
Chapters are well organized, easy to follow and complete despsite their concision. Tables and diagrams provide a fast and efficient review of principal differential diagnosis and therapies. Its extended list of references offers interesting cues to delve into.
Useful both for medical students and residents,as companion of a more extended textbook.

Excellent for Neurology Review

I am a medical student and used this book as a review for my Brain and Behavior course. It was excellent in preparing me for clinical scenarios. It is well written and concise. The pictures are very helpful. I highly recommend this book to anyone in the Neurology field interested in an excellent reference book.
